You are never locked in, and you never lose your stories

Cancelling Told & Treasured is simple and self-service. Here is exactly what happens when you cancel, what keeps working, and how to come back if you ever want to.

Cancellation keeps your access through the end of the period you have paid for. After that, the archive becomes read-only: you can still play, download, and export everything.

Cancel whenever you like

You are never locked in. You can cancel the Founding Family Plan at any time, and you do not need to give a reason or speak to anyone to do it.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not charge you anything, and it does not remove your archive.

You keep access through the end of the paid period

When you cancel, your full access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Nothing is cut off early.

Until that date arrives, you can keep recording, inviting family, adding photographs, and editing exactly as before. After it passes, your archive moves to read-only.

What read-only means

In read-only access you can still play every story, download the original recordings, and export the whole archive. Your family's stories remain yours, and your original recordings are never overwritten.

What pauses is adding new material: you cannot make new recordings or edit existing stories while access is read-only. Everything you have already kept stays exactly as it was.

How to cancel

When paid plans are enabled, you cancel yourself from the billing area of your account through the Customer Portal. It takes a moment, and you stay in control of the timing.

During the pilot, while checkout runs in test mode, simply email us at hello@toldtreasured.com and we will take care of it for you.

Reactivating later

If you decide to come back, you can reactivate by starting the Founding Family Plan again. Your archive and original recordings remain in place, so you pick up where you left off and recording is available once more.

If you would rather close your account entirely rather than keep a read-only archive, email us and we will handle deletion securely.

Told & Treasured is currently in a pilot. Paid checkout and the self-service Customer Portal are shown as a coming-soon state until enabled, so this policy takes effect when paid plans are turned on. In the meantime, you can email us to cancel. For how money is returned, see our Refund Policy .
