Terms of Service

Told & Treasured is provided as-is during a private beta. Features may change, pause, or be removed as we learn, and occasional rough edges are part of this stage.

Please do not rely on it as your only copy of irreplaceable recordings. You can download your original recordings at any time, and during the beta we encourage you to keep your own backups of anything you cannot bear to lose.

You retain ownership of everything you record and upload. We do not claim your stories, recordings, or photographs as our own.

You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and process your content in order to provide the service, for example to save a recording, show it back to you, and share it with the people you invite. You can export your original recordings and delete your content whenever you choose.

Only record people who have consented to being recorded. Told & Treasured is for preserving family stories with the willing participation of the people in them.

Don't upload unlawful content, or use the service to harass, impersonate, or harm others.

You are responsible for ensuring that everyone being recorded is aware of the recording and consents to it. Before any recording begins, we ask you to confirm this.

This is not legal advice, and recording laws vary by jurisdiction. If you are unsure of your obligations, please seek advice that applies where you live.

We aim to keep your data safe and the service running smoothly, but during the beta we make no guarantee of uninterrupted service or permanent retention.

Your original recordings are preserved and never overwritten, and you remain in control of downloading and deleting them. As above, though, please keep your own backups of anything irreplaceable while we are in beta.

We may update these terms as the product develops. When we make a meaningful change, we will update this page, and continued use of the service means you accept the revised terms.
